Now go into your D-Fend Reloaded program, and click Profile, Add, then type in a Profile Name, and then click the Program File field. then the click the button that appears with 3 dots and search for your C:/krynn folder and find the file called START.exe and select it.
Next, go to the Drives tab and click edit and change the folder for mounting to the krynn folder on your C drive and then click OK.
You should be ready now, however I usually like to play the game in windowed mode rather than full screen. If you wish to change the from full screen mode to windowed mode click the DOSBox settings tab and change start in full screen mode to no.
You can also change the speed of the game by clicking the Environment tab and changing the CPU #, however I find that 3000 CPU cycles works well.
Click OK to exit out of the profile setup and now double click the krynn disk image that displays within your D-Fend Reloaded program and you should now be able to create your characters and play the game. :o)
I was able to get the game to start by following the steps above, but If you receive an error message called 3HALI,it relates to your emulator not accessing your save game files correctly. You can try modifying your krynn.cfg file by right clicking on the file and open with notepad. You will then see the save game path. Try removing the save\ from the end of the path.
